Louisiana’s Calling!
Discover an area unlike any other in the United States or the world.
Louisiana’s District 6200 is situated in the heart of Cajun country, an area first settled by French Acadians
exiled from the Canadian province of Nova Scotia (Acadia) in the mid 18th century.
Friendship exchange visitors to District 6200 stay for three nights in each of four diverse areas of the state,
for a total of 12 nights. Visit the eco-rich city of Houma, a community of 100,000 people who live in an
area surrounded by natural waterways, swamps, bayous and lakes teaming with wildlife. Spend time in
Louisiana’s capitol of Baton Rouge, a city perched upon the banks of the mighty Mississippi River
(second longest in the world) and home to state government, institutions of higher education and
numerous American Civil War era plantation homes. Taste the unique cuisine of Lafayette, known for its
Cajun cooking, sugarcane plantations and French culture. And, no trip to District 6200 would be complete
without a stop in Lake Charles, an industrial center surrounded by century-old cypress trees, lush golf
courses and flamboyant casinos.
Answer the call, be a part of Louisiana’s District 6200 Friendship Exchange program.
